I was just looking at the in progress section of your website and I have to say, The feather pattern damascus knife you are working on looks great so far. Feather pattern damascus is one of my favorite types of damascus. How is that knife in particular coming along?

Glad you like it.
Its close to being finished. The guard and handle sections are all fitted and rough shaped. Its just a matter of doing the hand sanding on the blade, then hand sanding all of the fittings and handle, etching the blade, and doing the final assembly. I've got some more pictures of it in its "current" state (and some from some of the other subsequent steps along the way). I'll try to throw them up in the in progress section later this evening for you to see.
My goal was to finish it this weekend, but so many other things came up I was unable to get in the shop the way I had planned. But I'm going to try to get it finished as soon as I can and get it sent off to the customer.

Thanks, glad you like it.
As far as pricing goes... there are many variables that can shift the price around a good bit, but for a knife very similar to this one (size, shape, materials, pattern, etc), the price would be somewhere in the ballpark of around $400, depending on the fine details.
Knife pricing is one of those strange and difficult things, there is no standard when it comes to knife pricing, every maker prices knives as they see fit. I've seen guys doing poor work and charging more than I would for a simlar knife (of better quality), and I've also seen smiths turn out phenominal knives and charge significantly less than I would. There are so many different makers, different knives, and different customers, figuring out how to price a knife can drive you insane. I try to be fair with the pricing for my blades, I don't try to stick it to people, but I'm not going to short myself either. I try to keep it with the general pricing for the market, and basically what I think the knife is worth, giving the quality and time I put into it.
