Welcome to www.RioFire.com. My name is Lance Johnson. I started making jewelry in 1975. I KNOW!!!! That is before many of you were born. I started Creating jewelry in Sterling Silver and Turquoise in the traditional Southwest style. At the age of 23 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona from Utah. I was the manager of a Keepsake Diamond store in the Old Thomas Mall. I soon learned the need to learn how to work on Gold and other precious metals and stones. After a few years of frustration because no one was willing to teach me the trade I was hired by Ron Price. At Ron Price Jewelry Design I spent 4 years of apprenticeship from Ron and Todd Gilies, both very accomplished jewelers and Goldsmiths. I started collecting tools and soon had a studio at home making many custom pieces for people in the Phoenix area. In 1999 I left Phoenix and moved to Utah where I grew up. I opened a store which I had for 5 years. Then got married and moved to American Fork, UT. I have so many things I would like to make and learn yet.
